Backwoods Bourbon Baked Beans
INGREDIENTS:
2 (28 oz) cans baked beans
6 slices bacon, chopped
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 Tbsp BOURBON BALSAMIC VINEGAR
1 Tbsp GARLIC OLIVE OIL
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
1/2 tsp COARSE BLACK PEPPER
Optional: 1/2 lb smoked sausage or pulled pork, chopped
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove excess grease, leaving about 1 Tbsp in the pan.
Add onion and cook 4–5 minutes until softened.
Stir in GARLIC OLIVE OIL, BACKWOODS BOURBON SPICE BLEND, BOURBON BALSAMIC VINEGAR, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and COARSE BLACK PEPPER.
Add baked beans and optional sausage or pulled pork. Stir well.
Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until thickened and bubbling around the edges.
Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
OPTIONAL UPGRADE: Top with extra crispy bacon and a light drizzle of BOURBON BALSAMIC before serving.
